I have just changes my theme for two weeks, now it is time for WordPress. The WordPress 2.6 has released for about one week ago. After a few steps of implementation, this blog is also running on WordPress 2.6 now. So now let’s see what are the new features that you really can use for the WordPress 2.6:
Post Revision
Whenever you edit your posts or pages, WordPress will save a copy of your post so you can take benefit when you want to revert your post. You can also compare two revisions and restore the older revision as well!
More Avatar Option
The previous version WordPress 2.5 already has built in Gravatar to allow you to have option whether you want to show the Avatar or not. With the new version, there are three more option allow you to choose!
Press This
In WordPress 2.6, the Press This function has been enhanced, Source from Technosailar:
Press this! is a new enhancement of a long-existing concept. Bookmarklets. In fact, WordPress used to have a bookmarklet included that would allow a user to quickly start a new post from the browser toolbar, but the functionality was limited.
The Press This! functionality rocks, actually, because it allows the user to be on any website, click the bookmarklet and get a miniaturized version of WordPress admin with options to snip text, photos from the page, quotes or video embeds.
Theme Preview
With the new WordPress version, now you are able to make live preview all your themes on the design page. By clicking one of the theme screenshots, then you have the option to view the theme or activate the theme!
A new version of Wordpress has been released few days ago. You can see bloggers are crazy discussing about it! The screen shot of the Dashboard that blogger provided looks quite clean and nice! So, I went and upgraded my old version to 2.5 version today! Although, there are some errors occurred during the upgrading time, but finally I have done the upgrade successfully! Before You Get Started
- Just in case something goes wrong, make sure you have a backup. WordPress Backups is a comprehensive guide.
- Deactivate your plugins. A plugin might not be compatible with the new version, so it’s nice to check for new versions of them and deactivate any that may cause problems. You can reactivate plugins one-by-one after the upgrade.
Replace WordPress files
- Get the latest WordPress. Either download and extract it to your computer or download it directly to the server.
- Delete your old
wp-includes and wp-admin directories.
- Copy the new files to your server, overwriting old files in the root. You may use FTP or shell commands to do so.

Hello everybody!!! This is my first post in my new new Wordpress blog! I just want to inform you all that I have already moved from blogger to wordpress. I’ve registered my own domain name and hosting for three days ago! So, hopefully everything will be alright here. I am currently setting up my new blog, I never used wordpress platform before, so there are a lot of setting that I am not familiar with it, compare with Blogspot, I feel that Blogspot is more user friendly and Wordpress is more complicate. A lot of coding you need know and you also got to implement into your blog. So hopefully someone will there for me to help me setting up my blog…. I am sure will buy you a coffee!!!
